Our STORY
This is the 33rd year for Popular Truth Publishing. We have made some great achievements and have developed a good reputation as a publishing company.

We use three trade names: POPULAR TRUTH PUBLISHING - For books that deal with Black history, uplift, scholarship and society; TRUTH QUEST BOOKS - For books that enhance the quality of life for all people; and THEOTHOUGHT BOOKS - For books that deal with theological and spiritual matters.

The mission of Popular Truth is to be a leading publisher of materials that best represent the history of Black people and encourage the spiritual and social growth of humanity. We develop quality publications for personal readers, organizations, educational institutions, and religious institutions. The name “Popular Truth” was derived from a statement made by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, who said that he started Negro History Week (now Black History Month) in order to "make popular the many truths of our great contributions to world history." Through our efforts, we will continue to do our part to make popular the many truths of our great contributions to world history.

Over the years we have served the community through our free Chicago Black Information Hotline (1993-1996); our weekly radio program, “Liberation Station” (1995-96 in Chicago and 1998 in Atlanta); annual Black holiday celebrations; writer's workshops and conferences; and numerous lectures. These services were provided at little, or no, cost to the recipients. James C. Anyike, (the founder of PTP) has served as a speaker in schools, churches, prisons, conferences, community events and bookstores in over 30 states across America, and in Zimbabwe.

We are now serving communities everywhere through the Soul Liberation Radio and Soul Liberation Station shows. The purpose of SLR/SLS is to heal, empower and inform the Black community worldwide. The show aired locally on The Light 92.7 FM, 95.1 FM and 1310 AM in Indianapolis, Indiana for six years. The last on air show was on February 27, 2022. The live show continues on YouTube, Zoom and Facebook as Soul Liberation Station.

We hope that Popular Truth will play a major role in increasing culture, honor, dignity, respectability and spirituality as major values in the lifestyles of all people, and especially black people. In many ways, Popular Truth is still just getting started in its efforts to touch the mind-set of our people and re-educate the world about the beauty of Blackness.
